Listening to lots of Davespeak, you begin to recognize certain characters that seem to come out in his strange quips and stories. One of his characters is a very effeminate sounding guy who is often hinted to be gay.

Analyzing and discussing the personal lives of Dave and the band is generally considered faux pas by the DMB community. Despite this rumors persist about the orientation of Mr. Matthews, so much so that it is addressed in the Nancies FAQ.

Unfortunatly for many ladies and a few gentlemen, Dave Married longtime girlfriend Jennifer Ashley Harper on August 10th, 2000. They were married at Dave's mom's farm located in Blenheim.
