Say Cheese Dave,
We didn't get a newsletter out last week. This was
only the second week in a year and a half that a
Davespeak hasn't been posted on the site. Whoooops.
Bonnaroo proved to be quite an event, both musically
diverse and fruitful to Weekly Davespeak. DMB's
lighting designer, Fenton Williams, has confirmed a
second interview with us this summer. We're putting
together a set of new questions for him. If you
have questions you'd like to submit, please send
them to submissions[at]weeklydavespeak[dot]com. Be sure to
read last
year's interview before sending something in.
We also did a few interesting interviews we'll be
sharing in the next few weeks and made a number of
important contacts.
Special thanks to Brandon and his crew for showing
us some southern hospitality out there.
| DMB Bum-Rushed / Bryan's High-Res Hartford Pictures |
 |
|
A couple of idiotic concert attendees, (we hesitate
to call them fans), rushed the stage at Hartford
last night. In the process they knocked over Roi's
Sax stand and supposedly gave Stefan a knock.
Hartford has proved to be a not so happy place for
DMB, with Riots and a stank-ass
land-fill.(Link goes to old Davespeak about
Hartford). Some fans are pondering whether DMB will
return to the venue next year. I'm sure there are
some Canadians out there who would appreciate a few
more dates up north.
In other semi-related news, Bryan captured some
pretty cool shots from the show, you can check them
out here. I uploaded a zip with four high
resolution versions, they are available in this
thread.

| Jimmy Buffet Covers DMB |
 |
|
For the first time ever, Jimmy Buffet covered DMB's
Tripping Billies at his 6-15-05 show. He made a
comment that him and Dave had been talking about
working on some "things" together.
Link goes directly to download an mp3 of the
performance. See the thread of the week for
discussion on the tune.

| Thread of the week: Tripping on Jimmy Buffet |
 |
|
Always4036 brought us the news of Jummy Buffet's
recent cover of Tripping Billies. There was a fair
amount of criticism of the performance. Check out
this thread for a download, and feel free to post
your own review of the song.

| Davespeak: Precipitation Present |
 |
|
"Thank you very much, thank you Too Much.
Summertime, summertime goody good. I hope everyone's
good up on the lawn over there.
They said it was going to rain but there doesn't
seem to be an precipitation present. Except for the
water drippin' from my head.
Story something went wrong a little south from here,
Story something went wrong. Madapaway."

|
|
Erin, aka Kat71578 submitted scans of her 2005
Warehouse Tickets. We're currently collecting scans
of other tickets: Box Seat tickets, any special
bracelets or badges are also cool.
If you have a lounge, crew, or meet and greet
sticker--you can scan it and send it in but to
protect the security of the shows we will not post
these until the tour completes in September.
Check out the tickets.
