Dave Matthews Band has announced that the new producer on their upcoming studio album release willl be Mark Batson
The choice of Batson follows in line with DMB bassist Stefan Lessard's comments in his July 7th, 2004 interview with WBCN's Cali. Batson has a long list of experiences both performing on and and producing tracks for popular pop and hip-hop artists.

Using their website November2.org as a launch pad, the group's goal is "to harness the energy and enthusiasm of new voters, whose participation could reinvigorate the face of the American political landscape."

In what appears to be the second leak of the summer, the long anticipated leak of Build You A House (BYAH) has made it to the internet.
BYAH was recorded during the summer of 2000 along with Raven, JTR, and the other commonly known tracks from the original leak of the Lillywhites from March 24th, 2001.

Following a politically inspired scat from Dave in Jimi Thing, Mr. Carlos Santana joined DMB onstage for Warehouse, Sugar Will and All Along The Watchtower
In DMB's history, Santana has joined them onstage during a tour show just seven times. The last time Santana played with DMB was also in San Francisco--Pac Bell Park on May 18th, 2001.

Thanks in part to voting and participation from readers of this site, the 2004 Farm Aid benefit concert featuring Dave Matthews will be broadcast via Webcast.
Since Farm Aid will feature Dave performing solo, it seems a particularly inviting occasion to perform songs off his solo album Some Devil. No songs from his solo album were played on the summer 2004 DMB tour.

Dave Matthews Band Joins Vote for Change Concert Tour

This morning Dave Matthews Band announced that it would be joining the Vote For Change Concert Tour for six dates in October. In the email from the Warehouse, they said: "We share a belief that this is the most important election of our liefetime. We are fighting for a govenrmnet that is open, rational, just and progressive.
The full tour includes 34 shows in 9 states and also features artists such as Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band...
This morning the Dave Matthews Band official fan club, The Warehouse announced that Dave Matthews will play the 19th annual Farm Aid concert at the White River Amphitheater in Auburn, WA.

Dave Matthews Band Announces San Francisco Performance

The official Dave Matthews Band fan association, The Warehouse has announced a special DMB performance on Sunday September 12th, 2004 at the Polo Fields in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, CA.
The event is a fundraiser for Bay Area charities addressing a variety of issues. Dave Matthews Band established the Bama Works Foundation to "carry out the band's commitment to charitable works, both close to home and world wide." A list of charities DMB has supported in the past is available online.

Stefan addresses boredom on the 2003 tour In the 7/7/04 Stefan says that he "got real bored last year." This echoes the tone of Stefan's interview in 12/05/03. When Cali told him then that he felt the band was alive, he responded with surprise.

Dave Matthews Plays for John Kerry Presidential Campaign

On July 8th, 2004 Dave Matthews will perform at Radio City Music Hall in support of the Presidential Candidate John Kerry. The event was originally scheduled for June 10th, (the night before the D+F performance,) but was postponed in honor of President Reagan's passing.
Various sources indicate that there will also be appearances from Jon Bon Jovi, Mary J. Blige, Whoopi Goldberg, Wyclef Jean, John Mellencamp, Bette Midler and Robin Williams.

The boys played the four new tunes from last night, plus an additional song titled Hmm? The DMB Road Page posted the following comment:
Fantastic show in Tinley Park tonight! Energy levels on stage and in the audience were high. The band are having a great time together as usual, and it's showing in their performance. Along with the 4 new songs we heard last night, DMB played a tune that they wrote during soundcheck this afternoon. Dave improvised lyrics and band members exchanged solos. When asked what we should name the song on the web site, Dave replied "Hmm? Call it......'Hmm?!'." We're headed to Indy for shows on Sunday and Monday. See y'all there.

This Is The First Stop Tour opens with four new songs
