Dave Matthews "Hopes for Haiti"
Dave Matthews is set to join an already incredible line-up Friday night for Hope for Haiti Now, a fundraiser to help the devastated people of Haiti in the aftermath of the catastrophic earthquake that struck just over a week ago. The charity event will include a star-studded cast of hundreds of celebrities and musicians all calling for your support for the people of Haiti.
Some of the other musicians performing include Bruce Springsteen, Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, Justin Timberlake, Coldplay, U2's Bono, Sting, and Taylor Swift just to name a few. All performances from Hope for Haiti Now will be released via iTunes the following day and available for download for $.99 per track, or $7.99 for the entire album.
All proceeds from the telethon, as well as the MP3 downloads, will be split evenly between The Red Cross, The Clinton Bush Haiti Fund, UN World Food Programme, Oxfam America, UNICEF, Partners In Health, and the Yele Haiti Foundation.
The two-hour telethon, airing commercial-free Friday night at 8pm EST, will be broadcast across the four major networks, numerous cable outlets, as well as streamed live on YouTube and Hulu among others.
Dave Matthews Band has been reaching out to the people of Haiti also with their release on Download to Donate for Haiti.
What will Dave perform? Will there be a one-of-a-kind collaboration between Dave and the other performers in attendance? Discuss this in our forums.
