The November 2 Campaign has put together a new commercial featuring the Dave Matthews Band song The Stone.
Using their website November2.org as a launch pad, the group's goal is "to harness the energy and enthusiasm of new voters, whose participation could reinvigorate the face of the American political landscape."
November2.org involves over a 1000 non-profits spread across the country and has been linked directly from DMB's official website.
The target of the group is to turn out four million additional voters: half through registration of new voters, and half through mobilization of infrequent voters. Their emphasis has been on including women, young people and people of color.
The approval to use The Stone in the commercial comes from Dave Matthews' strong advocacy for November 2nd's nonpartisan message of simply getting out the vote. A previous commercial for the campaign was played on large display panels at Farm Aid 2004.
The commercial was created by the firm used by Nike, Wieden & Kennedy.
