Official Announcement

DAVE MATTHEWS BAND
Red Rocks Amphitheater 2005

DMB is excited to be returning to Colorado for three concerts on Friday, September 9th, Saturday, September 10th and Sunday, September 11th at the Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, CO. Nestled in the Rocky Mountain Foothills fifteen miles west of Denver, Red Rocks is a geologically formed, open-air amphitheater with perfect natural acoustics.

Dave Matthews Band has a special history with Red Rocks, headlining at the amphitheater for the first time August 15, 1995. The outstanding show was made into a double live LP, Live at Red Rocks, and released in 1997.

Dave Matthews Band played again at Red Rocks for two nights in early July 1997 and played their last Red Rocks shows in May of 1998, delivering 2 nights of exciting setlists. DMB looks forward to returning to one of their favorite venues after an 8-year hiatus!

Camping near the Red Rocks Amphitheater

The closest/nicest camping appears to be Chief Hosa campground . Due to a "change in management" the park is not open to concert camping. So that's out.

The other alternatives nearby the venue are Bear Creek Lake Park's Golden Gate State Park and Chatfield State Park . Chatfield Chatfield currently only has "full hook ups" which are for RV's at $20 a night. They also charge $6 per day per vehicle. Reservations are taken over the web and over the phone. I snagged a reservation her just in case, but keep in mind it is 20 miles from the venue. Here's a map .

The best camping site is probably the Bear Creek Lake campground . You can actually see and walk to the venue from this campground. Here's a map. The bad news is that they do not take reservations, so it is first come first serve. They do have a single reservable camp spot, but it has been taken.

Grabbing a hotel reservation nearby the venue this may be a good alternative if you don't mind dropping the dough and are looking for further conveniences.

Please post in this thread if you have any further info on camping / Hotels.
