DMB Debuts New Songs at Jazzfest
May 2nd, 2005

DMB @ Red RocksDave Matthews Band debuted new songs at the New Orleans Jazz Festival on Saturday, April 30th. (Photos: 1, 2)

The band was scheduled for 5:20-7:00 PM and played a selection of twelve crowd pleasers. This shorter setlist and juicy selection of songs is typical for DMB at festival shows. Have a look at this sample setlist from the 8/3/96 show on the Horde Tour (the last touring festival DMB played). Also check out their setlist from Woodstock '99.

The three new songs from the forthcoming album Stand Up were "American Baby," "Louisiana Bayou" and "Stand Up."

With just over a week until Stand Up's official release date, and no widespread leak of the album in sight it was the first opportunity for most of the community to hear "Stand Up" and and "Louisiana Bayou" completely.

The studio single of American Baby is currently for sale on iTunes and held the #1 song position before being knocked down by Gwen Stefani's "Hollaback Girl."

Dave did not play his new Taylor T5 guitar but stuck with a standard six string acoustic. Later on Dave Matthews contributed vocals to Trey Anastasio and Mike Gordon's performance of Three Little Birds.
