Golden Gate Park Polo Fields LocationReports of DMB's interest in playing at Golden Gate Park surfaced in mid-march when the permit to use the Polo Fields was requested.

The Polo Fields have been concert friendly in the past. On January 14th, 1967 this area was used by A Gathering Of The Tribes for a Human Be-In. This show drew more than 20,000 people and featured music from the Grateful Dead, Janis Joblin, and Jefferson Airplane.

Pearl Jam and Neil Young played the Polo Fields on June 24th, 1995. Young's setlist included Cortez The Killer.
