for a while the words "music beyond dmb" meant nothing to me, but a few weeks ago this group RPM (Restoring Poetry in Music) came to my school and even though the type of music they played normally wouldn't appeal to me, or most of the people who post on these boards, their music blew me away. i posted this already in its own thread but i wanted to put it here too. they are a really original group with an awesome sound. go to their website http://www.rpmband.com/ and check out "poetry bum" "play your part" and "dream awake"

Can't forget her...good stuff, and I don't really like many female artist's.She's real big around here (cause shes from Buffalo)Took me a while to get into her stuff, its a style kinda like Dave Matthews or a better example would be a female Bob Dylan.Deff- worth a listen though www.anidifranco.com

NOTE: She actually did a live TWO STEP cover, not a very good one,but o-well of least she knowes whats up ...I have it if anyone wants me to post it..

I really like Jack Johnson. His new cd is phenominal. I thought it was going to bomb but it was money, mos def. I like a lot of bluesy stuff. Clapton, Buddy Guy, Stevie Ray Vaughn, etc.

Music beyong dmb?

Yeah Listen to a lot of everything, U2(old U2), alittle coldplay, John Mayer (once and awhile I can tolerate him), rolling stones, beatles, Zeppelin, Hendrix, Eagles, some Phish, The Police, The Who.

U2 and the Police come in at #2 and #3 for me (though there is quite a gap in play time when it comes to dmb and my other top 2 )

Here's a jam band from north florida where i live (Jacksonville). They're called chroma, and they kinda sound like phish with a little bit more jazz. I think on their site you can download a few of their songs. My favorite is called Work.
