DMB Caravan New York at Randall's Island (formerly G.I.) Sep 16 -18, 2011

I'll be there Sunday, since i still have my Sunday ticket.

What do you guys know about Randall's Island? (as far as getting there, parking.. etc.)

I'll be driving up for the day... and ideally I'd like to skip public transportation while at the same time not driving into the heart of the city. Is that even possible? Taking the Jersey transit would be an option, i'm just concerned with getting out of the show and on the train before they stop running for the night.

im going that weekend just not sure about the lineup. Are schedualed performance times for the bands for each day the same as governers island?

New York DMB Caravan – New Dates! New Venue!

The New York DMB Caravan has been rescheduled to September 16th, 17th and 18th and relocated to Randall’s Island just off Manhattan on the East River. In addition to Dave Matthews Band’s nightly headline set, Dispatch will perform on Friday and Saturday, the 16th and 17th. The full line-up for Dave Matthews Band Caravan at Randall’s Island will be announced soon. The Island can be reached easily by foot or bike as well as by public transportation.

All original tickets for the Governors Island three-day event will be honored on the rescheduled dates even if you attended Governors Island on Friday, August 26th. All 3-day GA tickets and VIP Packages will be honored on the respective rescheduled dates.

I'll be there Sunday night too, with the wife and my 15 and 13 yr olds.

It's easy to drive to Randalls. You will, of course, have to put up with typical traffic leaving at the end of the night, though.

You're in the Philly area right? Randall's Island is right by the Triboro Bridge. Your best bet would probably be to go through Staten Island to Brooklyn, then take the BQE to Triboro, you go over the Triboro as if to Manhattan and its the very first exit. (Or you could take the GW Bridge and Deegan to get to Triboro).

You can take a subway to 125th and Lexington Ave and take a bus from there to Randall's. (Or you could subway to Astoria, Queens and walk, which is probably a 30-45 minute walk). There is no direct train to Randall's though.
