My wife, Jamie, had her hometown of Pleasant Grove, Alabama destroyed last week. We live in Maine now, but the house we owned was demolished. Thankfully, we have insurance and will be fine, but so many others are in need. If you've been thinking about donating to the victims, but haven't known how. Or thought, like I often do before giving to the Red Cross, for as much as they do, 100% of my donation will not go to the victims because of the Red Cross's obvious operating cost. I can assure you whatever you donate through Paypal, 100% will make it to those victims.
We are flying down Tuesday and will be there at least until Saturday. We will donate the essentials like bug spray, bathroom supplies, sunscreen, diapers and wipes, or whatever they tell us they need most. If you would like to add to this contribution, we've set up an email: pgtornadofund@yahoo.com. With it, you can send money through Paypal or email CVS gift cards.

I am sorry to hear about your and Jamie's losses Brent - I can't imagine the devastation or the heartache. I've been keeping up with your posts on FB and I am without words and the pictures and videos. I t like you said makes you appreciate everything you have and makes you check yourself before you lodge a complaint about what you don't have.

Cathy, thank you. It is tough, especially for my wife, Jamie, who lost about a quarter of her hometown and a handful of people she knew growing up. An elderly couple who lived a few houses over from her growing up. Her high school softball coach. The mother of one of her friends.
Even then, you can always point to someone who has it so much worse. Our lives, for the most part, we be back on track next weekend. Some down there will never be the same. It will be years before everything is rebuilt. The first two DOAs in Tuscaloosa were a ten month old and a two year old. Those parents will never forget. It shakes me right down to my core. Makes me realize exactly how blessed I am.
