There was some speculation on WH for a few days now, but I'm still quite shocked. My personal feelings are that maybe the band will take a step back and be the DMB they were prior to Butch joining. I have spoken to Butch before, and he is an incredibly nice man. But I could do without the long drawn out Bartender and Seek Up solos he brought.

I wish Butch the best of luck and hope he gains as much success with whatever his future holds.

A little bit of a bummer... but I'd love to see a show without him and see what the boys do with the material. Very weird news though... especially so close to the start of the tour.

Finally I can truly enjoy Grey Street again!

Wow. I'm not sure how I feel about this. I was never a big fan of his solos, but when he wasn't soloing he added an extra "umph" to the sound. They'll get someone to replace him right?

That's a bold prediction. There aren't many people who just up and leave a group 3 days before a tour starts, or much less a week or two. Something happened here.

And others have said What about ABI? That is confusing too.

But, one other sort of far-fetched comment... everyone wants DMB to play like they did in the 90s... well Butch wasn't really around back then, so maybe you have your wish. I'm still pumped for the tour. Should be great.

ABI is great but the whole SU cd needs to take a backseat this tour.

It will be interesting to see what the tour will look like minus Butch. Everyone has to remember that anything pre BTCS were played without someone on keys on majority of the shows. Look at RR 95 how bad ass was that show? That show also had Timmy so think of the possibilities this tour can have.

If you are not familiar with DMB minus keys just download some 94/95/96/97 shows and see how things sounded

It's not specifically that it'll be a bad thing. Just different. Like getting used to the addition of Butch took time, and this will too.

i get what your saying but all of the songs post BTCS were with butch so they boys have some work on their hands to get songs like bartender and some other key songs down without the help of butch
