Default recommendations for a new guitar

i'm looking for a new acoustic guitar - right now i have a fender cd 100 lh. trying to narrow it down to a grand concert / grand auditorium cutaway a/e. i'm not really interested in another fender, this one is good but i want to step up in quality. aside from takamine, does anyone know of a good intermediate quality manufacturer? seems like everything jumps from the cheap stuff to taylor and martin with only takamine in the middle.
thanks

you might want to check out an Ovation... they are reasonable and have a fantastic sound.

seagull, epiphone, alvarez are great quality sub 600 guitars, taylor also has a guitar around 500 that sounds amazing

thanks guys. i'll probably be on the hunt for a while ... being left handed makes it hard to find availability. funny thing is that wherever i wander around the net, taylor is the most-carried LH acoustic not that i'm complaining...
