logic express 8 if you have a mac. i unfortunately don't have personal experience but it's supposed to be good. that, and it ought to be far simpler than other options. my brother runs a home studio, and i've seen him work with pro tools and cubase, and both are extremely involved. useful and amazing, but very complicated. a simpler interface should put you in the right place. no need to overdo it if you're looking to do basic recording...you can lay down some simple tracks and work with someone who really knows what they're doing if you want to do a demo or some official recording

i simply hate them....they dont run in an ideal way for me and i cant stand not having a right click button.

AND

i did this by simply clicking my right click button and copy/pasting the link, mac users would have had to sit up, hit control something, go back, hit control something, etc etc...

lol i can see that. if you get an external mouse for your laptop you get a right click button of sorts, but i agree there are certain discrepancies between windows and os in terms of ease of use. but once you learn the key combinations and such with mac, it's so simplified and straightforward that you can't help but appreciate the beauty of it. i know my way around a pc decently well, but i have a lot of respect for the sheer power and computing ability of macs, especially when it comes to audio visual processing.

ill never forgive them for neglecting a right click. i can navigate incredibly well on pc and have done it for as long as ive known computers, cant stand my sisters mac though, it ruins net surfing when you just want to copy paste something and have to lean up out of your chair.

PCs....for the lazy.
