Has anyone tried this here? I'm going to re-string a guitar with the lighter strings it requires and try this out. I think it would be fun. You can still play standard chords they just are a few octaves higher. That will make it much easier than capo'ing everything so far down the neck.
Also I think we need to get this going again. Get some music stuff flowing on a DMB forum ha ha.

I did it on one of my guitars and it sounds pretty good. Only hard part is the tuning, took me some time to get the hang of the 2nd string since its a weird tuning. F# i believe it was?

My buddy bought a new guitar at Guitar Center and asked the guy to set it up in this tuning. He never heard of it before, but researched it and did it. I love the sound of it.

I just finished mine today. I love the sound and ease of play. I'm going to loop some things with a ukulele and maybe a mandolin and see what I can get.

The F# was tricky at first just to get it dialed in perfect but once it was in it was there. I sat out on the porch all afternoon with my two guitars and uke just strumming and picking.

I've got a guitar that I leave in this tuning. I like it. It's hard to get used to the top string not being the highest, though.

So far it's been great. My 214 holds the tuning very well. I did use Elixir strings so those may have a lot to do with it staying in tune. But so far I've gotten Stay Or Leave and LITHOG worked out and sounding great. I dunno what other songs I'm going to learn with it. Maybe Beach Ball and might finish Oh but it hasn't been one of my favorite ones to play so we will have to see.

Just to follow up. In case anyone was wanting to do this as well. I have had no negative effects (some folks said it might not be good for the guitar.) It stays in tune very well and it is nice to play in alternative to a heavier stringed guitar. If my fingers or hands start hurting after a while I give them a break by playing a couple tunes on this thing. Now I'm going to get a pickup for the 214 so I can play it more.
