Pop music spotlight: Dave Matthews Band
Dave Matthews returns to Twin Cities for first time since 2005.

Wednesday: Where have you been Dave? The Dave Matthews Band was the biggest touring group of the '00s but it hasn't played in the Twin Cities since 2005. And next year, the DMB will take a year off for the first time in its 20 years. With new saxophonist Jeff Coffin on board, DMB is still promoting its excellent 2009 album, "Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King," a tribute to its late founding saxophonist LeRoi Moore. Expect "Seven," a tune from "Big Whiskey," to be one of the night's big jams. But there are always lots of big jams with DMB -- and plenty of solo space for violinist Boyd Tinsley, touring guitarist Tim Reynolds and the rest. Agreed. I thought the same thing when I read this.
At least they didn't pick a song like #41 or Jimi Thing to describe as a "jam"
