Song titles

Every time I DL a full show I unzip the files then drag them to itunes. Problem is I always have to input the name/dates/album info myself and this is really boring and tedious. But isn't the track info already included in the MD5? Do I just drag the MD5 to itunes or what? Thanks for any help.

the shows you unzip will only have the file names given by the author....the full shows are usually kept in the band-year-date-filetype version for easy organization by the tapers. It's just the formal universal way they do it. We all know it's a pain to have to change all the info yourself, but everyone has their own method keep in mind. Plus, with the speed these shows come out in these days, taking the time to completly fill in all the file information would take a lot more time on the tapers part, postponing the time it takes them to get the shows to us. I've learned that if you name the files the way you want as you go, it makes it a lot easier and less time consuming for the future.....to each his own...

I use a program called musicmatch....

The program is great. After I convert the files to mp3 I load them up into musicmatch. The first thing I do is put the track number on each track. Then I put in all the song names which doesn't take me that long at all. Then I select all the songs and change the Artist and Album name all at once. Here is the greatest part. When I am done I can rename the files by the information I just entered by just clicking a button. The whole process takes me 10 minutes at the most and all my files are named the same way.

Thanks you two. I think its just because I'm lazy :lol: . For instance sometimes I just don't want to type the whole song title out. For 'Ants Marching' I would just type 'Ants' an so forth. Yep, I think its laziness...oh well.
