Dempsey looks really sweet. Boxers are prone to cancer.
I hope he does ok.

Oh I'm so sorry Bryan! I know exactly how you feel. We had to put my kitty, Loony, to sleep, he had bladder stones. It was awful.

Only 5?? That's so sad. I've worked in an animal hospital for the past few years and that's something you can never get used to...beautiful dog by the way..least you get the chance to spend some last time together...wish things could be different...

I'm so sorry Brian. 5 is very young.
What type of cancer? Some clinics offer chemotherapy or radiation tx for animals.
01-23-2005, 01:17 PM
Bryan sorry to hear about the pup, ive lost 2 cats in 2 years to cancer very hard thing to deal with but its alway better in the long run for the animal if you have to put them to sleep. If the vet can give a high rate of recovery you can try the chemotherapy like purplejulied stated. Good luck my friend and give your pup a nice pat on the head for me.

Im sorry to hear that Brian. My thoughts and prayers are with you
01-23-2005, 08:09 PM
Aw...5 is young. Very young. Are you thinking of getting another dog?
01-24-2005, 12:06 AM
Thank You all for your kind words and support. Early this evening, we discovered Dempsey could no longer use his back legs, and within hours his front legs were also paralized.... we put him down about one hour ago...and i think it was the hardest thing iv ever done in my life. He was a great dog, and i will never forget him.... i love you Demps...

So Sorry Brian,
