something brandon (fan#41) said in another thread got me wondering, what live shows do you find yourself coming back to over and over? a lot of us have big collections with lots of shows, but there are probably a few standouts for you. which ones are they?
for me, they would be the 4/2/93 show (there is just something a little different about every song they played - it is a standout show), 5/10/95 @ Yoshi's, 7/25/01, dm solo 1/28/04 which has some of the best recordings of my favorite versions of his solo material, dm solo 8/6/03, and then i rotate between the '97 shows featuring Bela Fleck a lot. those are my most played and most loved shows.

Hard to say. I love certain shows for certain reasons. We go after more rare and obscure stuff lately, and I love some of the early shows where Dave tells some great stories.
06.30.04 (which I happened to attend) has an awesome Jimi Thing, probably the best ever.
It really depends on my mood, whether I want something new or old but the tapers all do such an excellent job that it doesn't really matter which show I pull out, most of them all sound pretty good.

the july 2, 2006 show at alpine was great. but i think that 6.3.06 in noblesville, Indiana was a treat that we haven't seen in a while and that we won't see for a while. I think it's one of the better shows...

7.2.06 will forever in my mind be the greatest live show I will probally ever see. The set list was out of this world and the peformance was flawless. Kudos to DMB yet again for making Alpine Valley THE venue for a live show of theirs.

12/10/05 at MSG is an amazing set. i hope i can make it to MSG someday and hope to see DMB w/ Robert Randolph...all live recordings at MSG just make you feel the energy without even being there. Still I'd have to say 7/2/2006!!!! lol

i believe there should be a site from the band that has a vote on what show they would like to be put out there, it could be called "Live At The Garden"

I haven't downloaded too many shows yet, but right now I'm quite fond of the Dave and Tim "Seeds of Compassion" show in Seattle last April. The links should still be active here if you do a search. Great sound quality!
If you are a D&T fan, "Lost Acoustics" is also a must.
I need more 1998 DMB shows. Any recommendations?

Hi and welcome to the boards.
There are already threads floating around with this information and as well as requests. I would strongly suggest looking here (http://www.weeklydavespeak.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14388&page=11) and here (http://www.weeklydavespeak.com/forums/showthread.php?p=387685#post387685) since some recommendations has been made on what shows to get and this will get merged with other best show threads we have on the boards

agree agree agreed, get a copy of this show cause it really should be a Live Trax- it was my first show and will never forget it... especially now that I know what that quiet number was before that Typical Situation :pissed:...
other reasons to get this show- ranked #1 of 2003 Summer, Pig opener, the entire encore is other worldly the Intro>>>What You Are will give you goosebumps, lots of songs they don't play full band too often now a days like Fool to Think, Pay for What You Get, and You Never Know get played. Grab this show... here (http://www.antsmarching.org/forum/attachmentviewer.php?attachmentid=38454&d=1170619556)

My hard drive crashed last week as some people may know, so i lost my collection of dmb stuff. i just got a new computer so i can download stuff again and what not. so i was wondering if anyone could tell me some solid show to start my collection with again, and if you have the show and wanna send it to me over aim or somthing, even better. good quality shows and good set listed shows are mainly what im looking for.
i put this thread in DMBc Discussion because we are discussing good shows for someone to start their collection with, and it helps me out =]
so any help is appreciated thanks

thank you kim, my new threads are just mergin up today haha
9/10/05, Red Rocks
I know a lot of folks rate even the next night's performance as better (9/11/05, due in large part to a rare Pig opener and a Halloween "on demand") but I still say of the 37 shows I've seen and all live releases, the intensity of the performance nudges them all out by a good tenth of a point.
From the full Seek Up opener, to the full Two Step closer, and in between highlights including: OSW, DDTW, Rhyme & Reason, #34, Jimi Thing, Hello Again, Crash, BOWA, Billies, #40 & Butterfly teases, Blackbird, and the first version of Smooth Rider I ever loved due to the magnificent horns, in one of the most intimate, acoustically excellent and most beautiful venues on the planet, what's not to at least tie this show with any other? :)
