The new, as-yet-untitled Dave Matthews Band album is coming in May -- and it apparently brings the ruckus like never before. "It's good dancing music," says bassist Stefan Lessard. "We'll have more hits going straight to the clubs."

Right now, however, it's unclear just which tracks will end up on the final record. "We've almost got enough for two albums," says Lessard, holed up at DMB's new studio complex in Charlottesville, Virginia. Songs confirmed thus far include "Dream Girl" and "Wake Up."

Meanwhile, Dave Matthews himself will make his screen debut this year in Wayne Wang's Because of Winn-Dixie, with a soundtrack by Emmylou Harris, Shawn Colvin, Fountains of Wayne's Adam Schlesinger and former Smashing Pumpkin James Iha. "I thought it was a really sweet story," says Matthews of Kate DiCamillo's children's book about a young girl abandoned by her mother and raised by her preacher father.

DMB hits the New Orleans Jazz Fest in April, then amphitheaters this summer.

Bummer we have to wait until May, but if I have to wait that long for a rockin' album than indeed I will. I have faith in the DMB gang

I found this very interesting. Just read it on RS.com. It'll be a birthday present to me from the boys! Hehe!

I'm so glad that people on these boards didn't immediately bash Stefan and then contemplate suicide over two lines of most likely sarcastic dialogue.:screwy:
A few people were saying that the band should immediately break up.

Exactly, yeah the comments can make you kinda nervous. BUT, the band has been around for about 15 years now and they are obviously very good at what they do. I'm looking forward to it. The most disappointing thing is having to wait till May appearently. Also, it's their music, if they like what they are doing then great. I wouldn't put out a cd that I didn't like just to appease some fans that might freak out becuase the style might change...

hmmmm isnt a song...its Good Good Time! ::wink:: i personally dont think GGT will make the cut. i heard Stefan say they considered it more of a jam than a song and were just playing around...but who knows.

i'm sorry guys, but with the sound of the song that is on the new site, and from what stefan says, there's no way in hell ANY of the songs from this summer will make the cut!! i for one am extremely nervous about this album. not so much as i don't think it will be any good, but it is surely to be very very different. and for those of you who hate the everyday album, i would most certainly be fearful of what's to come this may......

I'm hoping they are. I'm just hoping they don't get pushed aside and when they do the final cut, they don't get knocked off.

Maybe Stefan was being sarcastic. Until I hear a completed track and not a 20 second clip, I'm not going to panic.

Hmmmm, it's been confirmed that they're releasing a new song titled "Wake Up". Maybe I'm wrong, but it sounds like Dave hasn't put the election behind him yet. No problem with me. Rock music is all about rebellion and controversy. I <3 controversy. :mon:

So far sound like lots of pre-chorus and chorus clips and not so much verse, the big picture is often much better than trailers and vice versa:popcorn:

I gotta believe this is going to be a really fun album.

Question: Pre-order...or take the day off and hit the stores?????

I think it's gonna be great. They don't get enough credit for branching out like they did with Everyday. That was a GREAT album. And this one will be great too. Just wait and see.

Good idea.:boings:When I get the CD, I usually just burn a copy and thats what I play in my player, so I just shelf my orginal copies. I'm good at scratching cds. I'd say almost all of my dmb cds have never been played....if that makes sense, maybe i'm just :screwy:
