I've noticed people are changing over to other services, but I saw this thought it was worth mentioning: https://beta.yousendit.com/whyyousendit.php

guess they've noticed they've got a lot more competition now! What they need to do is just up the download length of the free service, then they'd be keeping a lot more people!

I wish the downloads lasted a little longer than 7 days, but that's because I'm on dial up.

Even if you pay the link is only good for 14 days. Other free services keep the links good much longer anyway.

True. 3 weeks would be perfect I think.

they're shooting themselves in the foot in my opinion

people are going to just find other free services

do the ads completely go away if you pay?

crazy people - *shakes head*

I bet there aren't even that many people who would actually benefit from paying. And then there's the fact of those other free servers. YSI is not going to win this one.

I went to use them the other day and the site was down....now this....it will do one of two things....
#1: ruin them.....or
#2: get the other sites charging also

either way...it's bad!

Ya. I just caved and subscribed to the 5 buck a month plan. I use 50mb+ uploading services extensivily and had enough errors with Sendspace and tired of the megaupload advertising tactics.

I'm going to play with Yousendit's speed and simplicity and see if I can get my money's worth. You get a good service and eh... you start paying for it. :)

certainly worth mentioning...but not in technical difficulties.

Yeah...megaupload is the worlds worst for advertisments and can get very annoying, but it keeps links good for the longest amount of time as long as people are downloading from it. I actually like YSI the best, but don't use it as often anymore because the links run out so fast. So is the YSI fee really worth it?
