Hey, I'm John.
I love this site cause it kicks ass and you learn all this cool stuff about the band and you meet other people who are as crazy about DMB as you are and this site also kicks ass! So hello to everyone and to whoever it was that invented this site, I must say, you kick ass! For any thread pro's out there I'd like to ask, what does it take to make a good thread? Thanks. Man this site kicks so much ass!

Hello John! Welcome to the site that kicks so much ass!
whoever it was that invented this site, I must say, you kick ass! Thanks. You make it worth it.
What does it take to make a good thread? Thanks. This is something we're working on defining as part of a FAQ/guide for these forums.
Real simply, a thread should be relevent to the forum its posted in. The title should be short but accuratly describe the point/direction of the thread.
The idea for the thread should have been run through the search feature, just to make sure a good discussion hasn't already taken place.
In the DMBc, current events (i.e. chicago dumping) and creativity (i.e. best dmb song to have sex to) vie for most interesting it seems like.
If you get the hook on a very recent newsworthy thread idea such as the new album website, it could be moved to the news forum and become an official thread for the site. I consider these golden threads to be cutting edge. and give props to people who are on top of dmb news.
This is a pretty open community here, though. So don't be afraid to experiment. Bryan and Dave are here to help guide threads and discussions in meaningful directions.
Welcome to the site, and glad to have you.

^ Well put Rob. I too would like to say thankyou and welcome. I was originally tasked with making sure every new member is appropriately greeted, and over time, more and more of you are pitching in to help out. This is fantastic!! After all what good is having me greet y'all one on one? Sure I love to meet you all, but we want you to meet and greet each other as well. This is an integral part of making a strong friendly STRUCTURED community. So that being said, I'd like to give everyone a big :woohoo:
Oh and John, you have been entered into our rolling contest for newbies!
