This type of forum was requested by a few people, and I agree that its a good idea. Everyone is invited to share their views on the Vote for Change Concert Tour and any of DMB's other political actions.
Try to keep discussions in this forum related to DMB's political involvement. If you have views about politics in general that you'd like to voice, ex. "Nader's Involvement in the 2004 Presidential Race" please take those to the nDMB forum (http://www.weeklydavespeak.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=7).

This is great!!!! I got totally hijacked in the WH this morning. It's good to know that we have a place to have an intelligent discussion about DMBs' involvement with the Kerry campaign. Thanks so much!!!!!

I'll talk. I'll put it out there: I'm one of those who voted for Nader in 2000. And, even though I can't stand Bush. I'd rather vote FOR someone than AGAINST them. What are some ideas that people have out there that might make it easier for a strong liberal to vote for a fairly conservative democrat?

In close elections where a Republican candidate may have a slight advantage, voting for say, the Independence candidate, because that's what you believe in, is great. Unfortunately it get's little accomplished if that candidate is all but guarateed not to win the majority of votes. The result is an added advantage to the Republican candidate. This has happened time and time again. This year, there is not really a favored "3rd Party" runner(in my opinion), that has the potential to be a front runner. If you do not agree with Bush's politics, than why not give someone else a chance. If you don't like either of their politics, than vote for what you believe in. But in any case, VOTE FOR SOMETHING!!!

i really dont like having political parties for the reason that a lot of people who dont care will vote for whoever is the candidate for their party, which is stupid. i also dont like the electoral college crap. elections should be the total of votes nationwide, not whoever wins each state gets that many votes depending on how big it is, and if the electoral college chooses the candidate for that state..buncha crap
