ok, i know that the band was not headlining the show tonight. but for the dave matthews band to get as much time on stage as the freakin dixie chicks!?!? come on!! as good as the set list was, that was just not enough. very disappointed. :thumbsdow

Agreed! I thought they rocked out, as always..however, it seemed kinda rushed. You know you always want more but it seems to me they got behind and asked Dave to pick up some slack. Hey, no one wants to hear the Dixie Chicks begging people to come to their next tour!

well excuse my language, but fuck the dixie chicks. those sluts took up dave's time, and that sucks. they aren't even good, they're lyrics are stupid. whatever i know this sounds like idiotic rambling but im real pissed off. but hey at least i got to be at the show on 10/2. Just thinkin about that makes it all better!! So, to everyone that is pissed just sit back and play last stop from live in chicago, or bartender from folsom field and its all good!!

as i said before, and i know i can speak for brandon, we were both dixie chicks fans......but come on now, is this a pro-dave site or a dixie chicks site??? whose side are you on here???
buttermuffin4
10-11-2004, 08:44 PM
me? I'm a HUGE fan of both but I'm not on either side, I don't agree with both of their political views. I won't defend them when it comes to political stuff but when y'all start dissing their SKILLS, your hitting a nerve.
Brandon

Haha.......she can obviously play or she wouldn't be who she is...maybe I came across worng. BUT, having James Taylor and the Dixie Chicks open for DMB with what they played. I think that was weak. What about REM and Bruce with Man In The Moon opening would have been ten times better
Proudest Monkey
10-11-2004, 08:46 PM
buttermuffin....i don't want to hit any nerves.....there's no doubt that all three of those women are incredible musicians. i think you just caught us all in a bad mood having been disappointed by the show and all.

ok this might sound mean, but im kinda in a bad mood cause i have a paper to write but i don't care whose nerves i hit, i flat out don't like the dixie chicks. i hated them before tonight, and they made it worse by running into dave's playing time. so whether martie or natalie or whoever was attempting to play the fiddle has talent or not, i really don't care, their music is nothing compared to daves.

This site is great, who knew a simple sentence could set so many people off...its great to be able to talk about it. I think people are ventin cause we heard 30 min of Dave rather than 2 hours and 30 min, and no last stop this tour! Hey, blaming it on the Dixie Chicks is ok, hell everyone else does it and has been doin it...hahah
buttermuffin4
10-11-2004, 08:59 PM
hey! the people AFTER dmb were the ones who knocked them off! not the dixie chicks! blame them ;-) .

hey bein from jersey i like the boss just as much as the next person, but i could have done without him tonight if it meant more dave. looking on the bright side joy ride was pretty hot, i liked what dave said before he played it about people not understanding the lyrics...hes so funny and cute!!
-Maribeth
and sorry i am pretty mad about this paper
Brandon
10-11-2004, 09:08 PM
Just wondering....not getting politcal or anything...but how can you take anyone seriously who asks you to get naked and touch your tv?!? and this is the guy who follows DMB...phil, i'm sorry for you...im sure you're not the only one... :boings:

dmbchick41
10-11-2004, 09:25 PM
ohh phil your paper sounds worse..and i was actually calming down, and then this ridiculoua verse "people have the power" started echoing in my head...what the fuck was that? i feel bad for dave... there just aren't words right now

Dave looked lost without the guitar....I was just waiting for Barney to come out and sing with them....could it get any worse?

i was just excited to see the guys play again. i love the fact that dave was so into every song. although i agree, they could have played longer. last stop would have been good. is it just me or did the rest of the guys seem a little subdued. ( did i spell that right? )

Exactly.....DIXIE CHICKS shouldnt have even been on the bill to play anyway ..But Yes DMB was snubbed for time, but we are all spoiled because we get to see dave play for 4 hours ,etc....
Everyone in the audience wanted either DAVE or Bruce....so ...Oh well>!
It wasnt his best, but at least we got to see him one more time!!!
...Yes the ending to the show was classic...It was like We are the World except worse:-)
woo hooo!!!

Hey I love Dave Matthews Band as much as anybody, but why is everyone bitching, this was not exclusively a DMB show, the other bands shared the bill as well. Is there something I don't understand going on here?
Proudest Monkey
10-19-2004, 12:06 PM
not necessarily...it's just that in those type of shows, there are those bands that "put the people in the seats." and in this case, it was bruce and dave. to be honest, i just kinda figured that (and correct me if i'm wrong but this is how it usually goes) the more "power house" bands play towards the end of the show and get more time than the first act. i, as i believe most dave fans, was disappointed that the band was given less time than james taylor and the dixie chicks.
and something i havent mentioned, i don't think, is that the dixie chicks shouldn't have been before dmb anyway!!! it SHOULD have been rem...even michael stype could kick the shit out of the chicks!!!!!!!
