It's a conspiracy...didn't you get that memo about the JTR reports?

I think this song is a great song. I listen to it all the time. to me its one of the more upbeat songs on the lws and i think its a shame they shelved i, but thats something they felt was needed. I hope it comes back and they play it that would be great. We should start a SAVE JTR website and let the band know how much that song means to us in our own ways and maybe they will take another stab at it? who knows maybe they put it down knowing they where going to take another stab at it later.

I had some ******-bag sitting behind me at Dayton that thought he knew everything there was to know about DMB (which he may have, but he was a dork about it) and kept yelling out different tunes for them to play inbetween songs...."People People", "Spotlight", "Sweet Up and Down", "Blue Water".....and "JTR" was definately what he called out most.

I HATE people like that!!

<sigh>

On a postive note, I've been fortunate enough to hear it a couple times. I have a few versions in the Get File...if anyone is interested. I think I may be signed off right now, but when I get home from work (5~ish) I'm sure I'll be on.

on wbcn [boston] in an interview with cali (who has done about a dozen with dave, boyd, and mostly stefan) he asked stefan if the band makes a decision to "shelve" certain songs, and he specifically asked about JTR.

stefan said it wasn't so much a plan to ditch certain songs as much as the group kind of collectively gets the feeling that certain songs just aren't that fun to play for one reason or another, and JTR was one of them.

cali also asked dave what was in the silver mug he drinks out of...

*answer is in my back pocket* ...however....

i've got a solid audio collection, but i'd trade up for dvds to start up my video collxn... any will do, but i'd love to get d+t 03.29.03...

Awesome Jam at the end, but that's all. I don't like the song too much.

I heard JTR at my first show. I love that song beginning to end. Especially the jam at the end. It sounds like wonderful crazy circus music. :praise: I wish they'd bring it back :praise:

JTR was the first song to leap out at me in the LWS's. I really love the sax parts at the end jam with one part climbing up and another going down. Roi's genious strikes again. Seriously guys, BRING THIS SONG BACK!!!

Greystreet was my second favorite song on the original LWS's, and I feel that the song was greatly improved on BS.

I know that the band has stated that they will no longer play these songs on tour due to "personal reasons". I thought i heard somewhere that the cause of this is a result of the hostility in the lillywhite sessions. can anyone shed anymore light on the subject?

I dont recall them saying that JTR and SUAD are part of that list.

I do know that Stefan has said that the band gets sick of playing certian songs and sometimes they take those lyrics or riffs and make them into other songs.

What is on that list Charles? I didn't know that there were songs they won't play...
I don't blame them for getting sick of playing some songs though. Hopefully, Dreamgirl is one of those songs

Two great songs that should be brought back.I don't think that we should expect the dmb to play anythink that they don't like. their music is so good live because they love playing these songs and it shows in their music. i'd love to hear blue water, SUAD and after her so badly but it just isn't going to happen.

SUAD was played a good number of times during the Dave and Friends tour...that may put a squash to the idea of it re-appearing as a "Band" song
