Hey guys so all of you are so helpful I figured I would post my questions on here before finding some ridiculous computer forum where I don't understand what those people are saying. I want to buy an external hard drive to put all my music and movies on because lets be honest. the amount of DMB shows I've been downloading is filling up my laptop fast! I was wondering if anyone knew what kind of hard drive I would need because I want it to be wireless. I want to be able to access it from anywhere in my house without having to plug it into my laptop. Obviously I have a router in another room plugged into a PC. Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I don't know if they do thats what I'm asking. Is there anyway to connect multiple computers to a hard drive?

I think what you want to do is set up a home server. Are you on a mac or a pc? On a mac, you can set up time machine and do some sort of wireless stuff, ask at the apple store and they'll sort it out. On a pc, you want a "windows home server." That's the extent of what I know.

They make time machines now too? I have to start keeping up with technology.

they realized that some of their customers missed floppy discs. i'm pretty sure the marketing slogan is "oldies but goodies: floppies"

You can actually also accomplish this without setting up a "server." The Tech is called NAS or Network Attached Storage. Basically it is an external hard drive with a NiC card. It can be plugged into a network or the even have wireless ones these days. They can get kind of pricey though.

Boom! FTW. Either that, or some wireless routers have a built in USB that allow you to attach an external to it.
