Both are awesome. Just depends where you spend more of your time. In front of the t.v. or in the car.

well... if you have time to watch DVDs then get the DVD... if not get the CD first... listener supported, although not full of that crazy energy of most DMB shows, it has the most polished and well mixed songs of any DMB live release. it just amazing.

No, it's legit. The track listing on the cover (http://www.dmbdiscography.com/ls_dvd.htm) is just messed up - it repeats #41 and Jimi Thing as tracks 19 and 20 at the end. As far as messing up on Too Much, have you tried cleaning it?

no matter how many times I listen to this #41...

a) I always like it a little bit more
b) CARTER is amazing, I always find a new tiny fill/groove (listen closely ate 4.28-4.30) and of course
c) LeRoi! That solo is just amazing
d) No wonder I started playing guitar because of Dave...

That #41 is still, and will probably always be, my favorite version.

I usually only listen to the early part of this show, though. PNP>Rapunzel, Stone, #41. Nothing later really stands out to me. I think I need to give this another listen sometime soon.

The best Granny is on there too.

Nah, the Lovely Ladies ruin that one, IMO. (Thanks, you reminded me why I don't listen to the latter part of LS, though ).

I prefer early Grannys, like the one from '93 that's on one of the Warehouse discs.

What? I'd totally agree on Stay but not Granny.

listener supported is the true live dmb cd/dvd to me personally, them at their best. i find it hilarious how dmb fans can always find some little detail to nitpick about, just take it for what it is.

Well, then we'll agree to disagree b/c I def. do not agree it is the "best Granny" like you said. Besides the early ones I mentioned above, Central Park and LT 8 are 2 more I think are better than the LS version.

 Huh? We can't prefer certain things over others and discuss it here. Isn't that one of the main reasons to have discussions on a message board?

I find it amazing, that's how good a group of musicians they are.

Mitch I also listen to the first part of the DVD a lot, heart beat intro, stone, etc... but there is also some great tunes towards the end, warehouse, jimi thing, ddtw, aatw definitley give it a another listen, although the Lovely ladies dont sound so good on some songs...still, nothing like a full 36

Dont forget about that nice little jam they "opened" the show with...sooo smooth...Thank You Roi :praise:......Great show........Wish they would start with some little jams like that to open some shows..... :)

I will listen again soon, no doubt... I love all those songs you mention, but I guess I don't consider any to be stand-out performances of those songs, whereas Rapunzel, Stone, and #41 on LS are stand-out performances, IMO...

Oddly enough LS was the first DMB CD I bought. I fell in love with the band from listening to this show. DVD is awesome as well. This show, Red Rocks, and Luther College stand alone as the "Big Three" for me for live DMB content. Kind of like BTCS with the studio albums, after this I think the live releases went down hill. Just my opinion.

Cute, like no matter how much money you through @ players...they just suck when they get there. Oh yea and also the fact that every year the Rangers start off awesome and then just kind of fall off. As I recall, the rangers got knocked out of the playoffs too. Devils keep losing to the fricken' 'Canes.

BTW, the Devils have been in the past 18 playoff seasons, consecutively. Islanders haven't seen the playoffs since '06-'07 season. We need a hockey thread.

Edit: But John Tavares is looking good.

Yup, I am very happy with Tavares so far. And Okposo and Bailey developing well, too.

I agree a hockey thread would be good. I think there should be a Sports subforum in the nDMBc.

For now, people just create a thread for a particular sport and season in the nDMB Discussion forum (http://www.weeklydavespeak.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=7). Feel free to create a 2009/2010 NHL thread.

Does the Pope wear a funny hat?

Classic jams and somewhat retro look. It ties for 2nd with several other DVD's after Central Park.

Ch-ch-check it out - that's right, a Sports Forum (http://www.weeklydavespeak.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=106).

I watched Listener Supported yesterday. Still love it but wish they'd release it in widescreen format.

just listened all the way through the other day. so... freaking.... good. one of my top 5 favorite versions of Crash.

You know, it's funny, Crash is one of those songs where it NEVER changes. It's has its set arrangement with no jam, just cut and dry. Great song, but it just doesn't have the drive of a song that's got a solo or two. BUT every now and then there will be a version that just hits ya and I completely agree with this one. The Listener Supported version just has something about it. It's perfect.

12/31/96
3/24/99

9/15/00

Some other favorites that stick out for me for various reasons.
