From what I have been told the WH randomly selects a few members to meet with one or two of the band members for the day of the show for like a hour or two. you are allowed to invite one person too.
So If your a WH member just wait for a call.

I know right Dave? haha
anyways i was going to mention this earlier but didnt have time. I know 2 people that got upgraded from the WH.. they both had tickets to the lawn..Megan got a call from the WH letting her know to pick up her pass at the ticket booth when ariving for the show. This was for night 2 hartford 02 7-26-02 she was allowed 1 guest. I beleive that was the same day she meet Debbie From DMBRR.com and last year my friend Mike got upgraded with a meet and great pass from Rudy. Thought that was pretty cool. He took in his girl friend. I think she helped him get the upgrade. and this was at Hartford night 2 7-17-04

Ann is someone who works for the WH. Occasionally, she comes into chat during tour time, and asks if people are liking the tour so far, stuff like that. But occasionally, she'll ask if anyone is going to a certain show. If no one answers, she leaves, which is what's happened the 3 or 4 times I've seen her. But, from what I hear, if people do answer, they'll get upgrades or meet and greets.
I've also heard of instances when people have gotten upgrades and meet and greets from Rudy Arias.

This coming from the person who has Dave grabbing his balls as an Avatar...it was a joke  nothing more, nothing less...I'm sure if Boyd read it he'd laugh.....It wasn't a dig at Boyd his name was simply the first to pop in my head I could have said Carter....I could have said Dave (oh the backlash I'd get if I said Dave...{I shutter to think} but it was Boyd {come to think of it...why the F am I defending myself}....as for those "other" boards....while this is my favorite....I don't find the "other" boards users to be so freaking sensative....

yea great site for people that want to meet the band.. I have meet a few members by getting there early and not even reconizing them.. Im sure if its only a one night gig they are not usuing hotels. and if its a 2 night gig usually they drive a little bit away from the stadium to get their privacy.

i was just at the same hotel with them last weekend @ SPAC. we probably would have had a better chance of seeing them if they didn't have to do live 8 in philly. the closest i came without being a pest is i saw them leave friday night from across the parking lot. i waved but chose not to yell. they didn't see me! :feelbette sleeping under the same roof as dmb was enough for me. everybody in the hotel(staff) were going crazy trying to meet the band too. they say they tip well. it was exciting!!!!!!! :boings:

I did a search so hopefully I'm not a repeater...
How the heck do you get backstage passes? In the search I saw a poll that "they gave you backstage passes" was an option.
I'm pretty much praying like crazy until the moment I meet the band then I can say that I did my number 1 on my "do it before you die" list

i dont know how you get them. there are probably some contests.
this girl once entered for VIP/backstage passes or something for the 5/30/06 show and she won them, but they didnt send her an email until a day after the show! thats got to suck

backstage passes arnt what you think. its really just lounge passes which get you into a VIP area where they have drinks and somtimes finger foods, the band is not at all often back in the lounge...if you lucky one of them might be meeting a friend there.

Well, friend of mine her cousin bartends for Dave Matthews Band in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. It is called The Abby. Her cousin knows them and all she has to do is call him up and tell him that she needs 3 or so VIPS and she gets them. I might have one next year for Alpine Valley. So its ways like that. Or through contests.

I've gotten "backstage passes" and was really disappointed. I got them from a guy who is part owner of the Tweeter Center here in MA. You dont get access to backstage at all. You get to stand in a roped off area near the back of the stage, but only while Dave was on stage. Really infringed on my concert-going, so i split.

Wow so sounds like it's not even worth it. I'm just wondering how so many people meet everyone...it seems like everyday there is another "OMG I met ____" post in here. :pissed: So jealous!
Anywho...I had a dream that I had front row center for the ATL show and after the show Carter came up and was like "Want a stick" so I of course took it. I then asked how to get backstage to meet everyone and he had their security come get me and bring me back. I woke up so damn giddy until I realized it was just a dream then I sulked around

I've recently acquired meet and greet passes for 3 friends and I to meet the band after one of the nights at the Gorge. However at this point this is all I really know and was looking for some more information on what this experience will be like. Needless to say, we're all extremly excited to meet the band and are just kind of wondering what we're in for...
Does anyone know the format of a meet and greet?
Approximatly how many other people will be there?
The amount of time we'll get to chat with them?
Anything interesting we should prepare for?
Has anyone ever been to a meet and greet at the Gorge before?
Thanks for your input.

Well.. not sure how a meet & greet with DMB work..
But when I had a meet & greet with Willy Nelson, all we did was:
Walk onto his tour bus
Smell alot of pot
Get a picture with him along with autograph
Basically say one or two things to him
And that was that.
Pretty incredible though. It will be amazing for you I'm sure.

Just phoned a friend of mine, back in 2005 she won tickets to Z100's "Jingle Ball", which is a concert with a bunch of different bands playing for the holidays, with that she also won backstage passes which included 2 different meet and greets... from this she had learned that its done as they say, they tell you where to go, what you can and can not do, they ask you have anything you want signed out and ready, if you want picture must be quick so that others can get pictures taken too.. its not as fun as you may seem, but as far as meeting the aritsts its incredible and worth the whole routine in which you must abide by to stay in the meet and greet area.

I went to a meet n greet with Bush, No doubt and Goo Goo Dolls several (and I DO mean SEVERAL) years ago. We had to sit in a group until they were ready for us, and when they called us in, well, it was wierd. It was a dimly lit room that was lined with folding chairs and the middle of the floor was open (it reminded me of a middle school dance) and we all had to wait there for the band to come in. We had to have everything ready to be signed before hand, but we were able to take all the pics that we wanted. Once they got there, it was pretty much like a free for all. There wasn't really any organization to it, just jump in and start talking when you got the chance. It lasted about 45 minutes maybe. But it was a very casual experience (the band was trashed by the time they got back there with us) but they were cool with conversation and what not.
Man, you're gonna have a great frickin time! Good luck and you better show us your pics from it, too!

in the past two years I met dave twice and both times I was speachless. After the 1st time my friend and I said if we got a second chance we would do this and that and say this and than......well lucky for us we got a second chance last year in Chicago and we were speachless once again.. What usually happens is you meet someone at the will call window they will let you know who by email. Its before the show and it almost always is only Dave not the band. you can take pictures. He usually walks around and signs autographs and then you get to take a photo or two with him. Its pretty cool last year he talked to us for about 5 or 10 minutes. We we orginally set up to meet him at RR the year before but it was at the end of the tour and his voice was shot. So it got changed to Chicago 07

I'm jealous myself. New album questions are good but would probably result in little. If you asked him about Best of What's Around farm or environmental efforts, etc. you would probably get something interesting and extra out of Dave.
A college friend won a lunch with Dave through a radio station in Philly in '98. He said Dave talked about his doctor telling him to "eat more carrots", among other random things. Very rock star.

No, I never have won the lottery. but i am pretty lucky. I always get what I wish for....hmmm maybe i should wish to win the lottery! The 1st time i met Dave was in Colorado. He walked in to a cafe I was having lunch in with a friend. He was with his personal trainer I think his name was Adam. We said hi he came over to the table shook our hands asked us how we like show the night before chatted for a bit about random stuff. drank about 5 double espresso's and then left. Butch was also there. Now he is really a cool guy. Do your home work find out where they are staying and be patient., not in there face. We couldn't belive it it was a blast.

I didnt recieve the passes from the warehouse. Fortunatly, I have a friend that works out west within the music industry and he was able to get them for the four of us.
This trip has a very special meaning to all of us because we ordered tickets for the gorge show 2 days after my brother was killed. While traveling to florida for spring break (from wisconsin), a semi-tire came out of oncoming traffic and went through the windhsheild of the van they were traveling in. My brother, along with a classmate of mine, were both killed as a result of this neglegent trucking company.
Ironically, both boys were named Jason, and both of them were also huge dmb fans. All of us have been to every Alpine Valley show since the band started playing there, not to menetion several other regional dave shows (chicago, twin cities, etc.).
The four of us decided (a day after both J's left us) that in honor of the two of them and their passion for dmb, that we would make a trip to Dave's favorite venue, The Gorge.
The trip is now planned as well, we've rented a 24' rv for a week to tour the upper midwest concluding at the gorge with vip camping, pavilion seats for 2 of the 3 nights, and last but surely not least, meeting the members of Dave Matthews Band.
At 23 years old, I've been fortunate enough to travel the world some, however I think this trip will surely top them all. Starting this saturday, I'll see the band 5 times in the next 9 days, Alpine (2) & The Gorge (3), culminating everything with finally meeting dmb out west.
I know for sure that my brother helped in putting it all together. I just wish he was still here to say thank you too. In light of everything that has happened, Bartender will now forever be my favorite DMB song.
Thanks for reading.

Patience sucks...i have been to shows since 95 and I think I have been pretty patient....i think i will use stalking as a technique next

LOL it's kinda like the way I approach a ketchup bottle.....tilt it over....wait for an hour.....shake it....wait.....smack it...wait.....shake the S**T out of it....scream......break the bottle open and take what I want.
OK, maybe it's not kinda like that, but hey, you get the idea

How do I attain one of these meet and greet backstage passes? If anybody has any information on that, please let me know! I'm going to the Berkeley, CA show in September at the Greek Theater, so I was just wondering how the fan club deals with it.
Thanks!

It's completely random. And from what I understand the WH doesn't really do meet and greets anymore. You've got a bigger chance of just running into one of the guys on the street.

Hmm I haven't heard that they have stopped the meet and greets. I have never been invited to one, but it's for warehouse members that have been around for a long time. I would say at least 5-6 years. Warehouse will contact you to meet Dave. I have also heard that the whole band doesn't show up, it's usually Dave and maybe Boyd or Stefan. You're in a fenced off area behind the venue, and that's about it

I think this is just a joke inside the warehouse. People are always joking around on the boards in the warehouse saying that the warehouse doesn't even offer meet and greets, because it's almost impossiable to get invited to one by the warehouse and that you have a better chance winning the lottery rather then getting a meet and greet through the warehouse...

I didn't mean imply that they never do them, but I think they are very rare now.

yeah I've seen several pictures of people with Dave during meet and greets. They did them a lot more a few years ago and seem to have slowly died down. I know for sure that the gorge is one that goes on every year still.

This will be my 8th year at the Gorge and I haven't figured out WHERE people are meeting Dave outside the gate? When and where is this happening? I would appreciate any info, it's pretty easy to get "lost" in the desert on DMB Weekend! Thank you!

Never been to the gorge so I have no clue, but every picture of a meet and greet I have seen has been outdoors.

Meeting Dave and going to a proper meet and greet are totally seperate things. People just get lucky that weekend at The Gorge and bump into Dave, or any of the guys around. Dave and Stefan go biking around the area, I believe they stopped in the campground and chatted with a few fans. I talked to Butch for a few minutes (about patio furniture... don't ask) last year when I bumped into him. Very gracious. As for "the gate" I think that is close to where the buses park in the "backstage" area, but I am getting that solely from the Gorge DVD from a few years back.

Yes, as for the Gorge look for people on mtn bikes. Last year dave was riding around and stopped to take a quick picture w/ my girlfriend.

they come into the warehouse and ask whose going to what show or if they are going to be going to the next show coming up. It is completely random. they set up the meet and greets at the warehouse days prior to a show. I've yet to be asked, but I'm in there randomly as well. they should do a few contests - that would be fun. I think finding the hotel bar would be a good bet ;)
hope this helps - cheers!
