Good thread topic.

My personal favorite is the Fools Rush In / Wisemen / Can't Help Falling In Love outro (whatever you want to call it). It sounds beautiful on the tapes from Alpine last year...

Also, the Thank You (Falettin Me Bee Mice Elf Agin) is another one to add to your list.

First one that comes to my mid right now is Jimi Thing in Berkeley last summer. Where Dave let the crowd sing the verses and he chimed in for the chorus. It was so awesome!!

Ha, no need to punch yourself. When I first read your thread topic, it didn't cross my mind. Then as I was going through everything in my mind, I was like "Are you KIDDING ME?! How did I forget Ants?!"

Granny is very good live.

"Hmmm da da hmmm da da hmmm da da hmmm da da LOVE!"

I can't think of any more currently... too tired today.

There's a number of "Hey!"s thrown around in songs... Two come to mind...
1) Song that Jane Likes at the end of the intro "I'll come back again... HEY!"
2) Seek Up in the second time through the chorus after "when your well is dry... HEY!"

if i could post a video from my phone on here i would. its how everyone should dance for the entire show. This guy was seriously on something haha i showed it do you Dave.

This guy was all over the place. one time he made it to the opposite side of the pavilion and had to be escorted back to his seat. thats some serious crowd interaction

Also with Seek Up... the opening line "Sometimes I feel like I'm falling"... Yeah, its the main lyrics, but everyone sings this super loud.

OK. I'm gonna have to go with, "People In Every Direction / No Words Exchanged, No Time To Exchange"

I love the interaction as the lights fan out over the crowd and it is sung by everyone. Great way for the band to interact with their fans.

Of course there are many more....

There are so many that I love.... most of which have already been mentioned:

Ants : People in every direction ......
Granny: Love! Baby!
Warehouse: WOO!
Everyday: Honey Honey...
Crush: Yeahhhhh..
Dancing Nancies: Look up at the sky

I also love at the end of crash.. (along with the dixie chicken outro) when the crowd yells along "CRAAAAAAAAAASSSSSH into me"

and... I'm not sure if this counts... but on When the world ends after the lyrics "we'll be burnin' one" the crowd goes crazy, i love that.

Along the Jimi Thing line.... the For What It's Worth outro is always a crowd pleaser too.

Totally agree with you especially the time they did it at Red Rocks on 9/10/05 and recently at SPAC on 6/21/08. I got to be a part of that fine piece at SPAC.

Mom its my birthday!!

least favorite crowd interaction (interruption)
clapping to the beat, on slow songs most drunks can't do it right so it ruins it, plus they have Carter feakin' Beauford keeping the band in rhythm, so in all reality there's no need to clap...sorry to rant but I hate it except for applause

hahaha I couldn't agree more. I can't stand when people clap to the Two Step intro.

I like at the end of newer versions of Watchtower in the second time he sings the chorus. "THE WIND, begin to howl..."

Last summer when he would play DDTW and the crowd sang "Now as I rest my feet by this fire...Thos hands once warmed here, but I have retired them. I can breath my own air and I can sleep more soundly...Upon these poor souls...I'll build heaven and call it hoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooome"

Then Dave sang it again....Pretty awesome

As I've been listening to some live DMB albums, I've noticed that certain songs allow for audience participation. Examples include the obvious shouts during the intro to Warehouse, similar shouts throughout Joyride, and singing alone during certain songs. I was wondering if anyone could give me a list of songs that include the audience, and how the audience is included. Or if the list is too big, just the song names, so I can check them out by myself. Thanks in advance!

Joe

During Ants Marching when the line "people in every direction" comes up a lot of times Dave stops singing and lets the audience take over.

In Dancing Nancies the samething happens I think in many live version but its late and I can't think of when.

Those two come to mind right off.

Lately, Dave has had the crowd sing the entire first verse of Jimi Thing. i think that happened a few times in 08.

The Stone, cant help falling in love with you. i notice the crowd usually sings it, even if the band isnt playing it.

Also The Last Stop, thanks to the guy from Live In Chicago, i always listen for the whistle when Dave sings "This is The Last Stop"

I'm a fan of the Pay For What You Get "What is this shit!?", the LBV "This is a song Boyd wrote back in 92!!! (actual quote from Tinley in 08)", and of course, my personal favorite, the Seek Up "shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit, i gotta piss"

Last verse & outro od DDTW
OSW outro (hey hey hey/loooooove/hey la hey loooooove... yeah) tingles
TB- Check em' Boyd (HOW COULD WE FORGET THAT 1)
BDTH 08 was a crowd pleaser along with SH & TY
"Little Mikey Carson.."
"..and I saaaayyyyyyyyy.."
"live safe say, Whhhhhyyy/don't trust me trust youuuu saaaay.."
"are you satisfied with fucking/don't walk away/love is hell"
"get my head off all this terror..."
Soo many more but i've wasted enough time, so i'll give others a shot!!!

I kinda like SMTS ending: "open up my head and let meee out, little baby!"

Ants: "people in every direction".. I remember hearing this first on the Live at Red Rocks discs.

and anyone at SPAC will tell you how cool the jimi thing singing was, had never seen that before.
