Older CDs Not Working on Computer

Not sure if anyone could help me here, but it's worth a shot.

I've been trying to get some of my older albums onto my iPod, but I'm having trouble. After I place the CD into my driver, nothing comes up. Says there isn't any disk in the drive.

If anyone has any answers, I'd be more than greatful. :)

What condition is the disc in. Ive played and ripped music from some older cds just fine. Or maybe its that the cd is a CDR.

The condition of the disc is fine. Its from 1989. It has worked fine on every cd player I've placed it in, just not my computer.

what type of drive do you have on your pc?

new or old system?

It's an official release alright. Just purchased it yesterday. And my drive is practically brand new. It's a Dell laptop thats maybe a year old.

I know that some cd companies now are putting blocks on cds so you cant play them on your pcs and burn it to your hard drive. Maybe thats the case here.

Well it's an older "compact disc." I've had this happen before, like with older Neil Young albums, but I'd eventually figure it out. For some reason this one won't budge at all. :pissed:
