View Full Version : Beer Pong
Hey y'all.
I took a trip out to the east to see the boys at SPAC in early July. There were tons of people playing Beer Pong in the campground I stayed in. This was the first time I had heard of the game, and was surprised at how many people played it.
I've been going to shows in the west for eight years or so and never recognized a game. Is this an easterner thing, or was I just not paying attention?

  the lack of knowledge of Beer Pong is frankly astonishing. Let me, however first clear somthing up. Beer Pong is acually played with ping pong paddles, when you just throw the ping pong balls the game is actually called Beiruit. This is a time honored tradition at colleges around the world, and of course a concert tailgating staple.

Actually, Just drinking them as fast as you can with no game in between sips is easiest......i believe the name of it is BINGE Drinking?? Although, if you play it with paddles, its called Paddle Binge Drinking....gotta love it. First one to pass out loses...., throwing up is bonus only if you keep drinking afterwords, and if you stumble, fall, slur your words, you get points deducted....and when you are drinking against somebody else, the person who loses gets hit in the face with a paddle by the winner. (o wow, that sounds like it might hurt). Ok , nevermind, I dont like this game...maybe without the paddles.

 dont know beer pong? we play it with cups in formations. when a team sinks the ball in a cup the person has to chug it, or they can get the funnel :boings: then the team chooses a different formation the cups go in. and so on. no paddles for us, we just toss the pong balls... it gets competitive, especially when the chicks r around... sounds like its played different all over the place!

I thought beer pong was everywhere  crazy westcoasters :)
It's nuts all the different rules. I think everybody basically has their own little variations, "house rules" if you will, we throw that around often here in the apt. We spent about 2 weeks making our own table a couple years ago, which will be retired in the next month http://weeklydavespeak.com/forums/images/icons/icon9.gif with graduation.
We sometimes play with a basically full back-middle cup. Its good to start off a few games with or if you lookin to get especially hammered

Beer Pong is the general term almost everywhere for Beiruit, and it is not played with paddles. I think Beiruit is known a lot better as just Beer Pong. I have never once seen a game played with paddles, and here is Jersey we live for the game.

Oh my goodness!! Beer Pong is my favorite drinking game ever. I can't believe you never heard of it!! We play with 10 cups, first put in a triangle shape, then you can re-rack at 6 (smaller triangle), 4 (square or diamond), 3 (smaller triangle), and 2 (line or side by side) cups. Then, we play if you bounce the ball in, you get to take away 2 cups. But if you bounce, the other team has a chance to swat it away, so you must do it at an opportune time, such as when they rerack. We also play, that if the ball is spinning around in the cup, your team has an opprtunity to "blow it out"... sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Anyway, I LOVE ME SOME BEER PONG!

the whole reracking thing is for amaturs, i have played the rerack @ 6,4,3 & 2, and i have played when u only get 1 rerack the whole game, a lot more challanging

Yeah, we used to play it with only one rerack at 6, but, that makes for a very long drawn out game and when you always got people lined up to play... they don't like that lol

Games are fun, but sometimes get boring on a weekly basis. But beer pong is definatley bomb.
On a related topic, one time at a friends house we were all doing beer bongs and somone managed to slip 4 shots of Goldshlauger(sp?) into one of the beer bongs. Lets just say it calls for one hell of a night. So with that note, I highly recommend pouring hard liquor into unsuspecting beer bonger's beer bongs. And go beer pong!

that is a very good call, if you have a big party, and ppl are overly drunk, then it makes for a long game. Thats why u either play the 6, 4, 3, & 2 rerack or just get multiple tables goin!

I don't know much about beer pong but i"ve had experience w/ Goldschager. I don't know if it's it the "proofage" or if it's the little golden flecks but I think it has mind/personality altering properties.:alumni: I'm usually pretty good at holding my liquor. I can be stinking drunk and still stay in control of myself, my surroundings, etc. But one night at a bar, years ago, drinking that scary gold business and God knows what else, I approached a girl who was dancing with a guy I was casually dating, had no claim to and said "You're a f*#ckin whore." That wasn't "me" I don't do things like that EVER. "One hell of a night?" You can say that again.

Haha. Yeah, I agree with that whole mind/personality altering thing. I can handle beer like a G. I'm not going to go into bragging n whatnot but I can. But hard liquor is usually no dice for me. ONe night I was nice and buzzed of Budweiser ( Best ever ) and my buddy called me a pussy and said I couldn't drink. SO i turned around and grabbed a bottle of " that scary gold business " and chugged down the rest of it. There was around 4 or 5 shots left.Oh my that was no good. I ended up passing out in the bathroom where my parents found me at 6 am when they woke up for work the next morning. Yeesh

For some reason, that reminds me of an old Simpsons joke.
"But Marge every time I learn something new I forget something old. Like remember when I took that wine making course and forgot how to drive?"
"That's because you were drunk"
"And How"

Beer Pong and Flip Cup Rule!
Playing Flip Cup with teams of guys and a team of girls is fun. And you bend the rules a bit. If you do lose your whole team have to take off one articly of clothing. Fun Times.

essentially its cause your bombing the cups with the ping pong balls... you dont get to bounce them and hit them with a paddle like in beer pong.

i first heard about it at camp--the counselors would sometimes play it if the kids werent at camp. when the kids did come, we played it with them, just instead of beer, we used ginger ale. granted, it was less fun, but pretty funny.
