When you guys are posting away, and you see strange links appearing in the thread, please notify one of us IMMEDIATELY. I highly recommend that the first user in the neverending story thread to notice they had links appearing after posting should reboot in safe mode and run some spyware checkers.

Here is a link to Adaware. Everyone should run this software on their computer every few weeks. Its important to protect yourself from being exploited by spamming and black hat advertisers.

(http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/) Download Adaware from Download.com (http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-SE-Personal-Edition/3000-8022_4-10045910.html?part=dl-ad-aware&subj=dl&tag=top5)

Just as a heads-up to add onto this... I had weird links coming up when I would type in certain phrases that some virus software would recognize. It got worse and worse until my computer wouldn't turn on. I just got it back from being fixed, so I would strongly strongly strongly recommend checking up on yours before you lose all your hard drive.

Everyone should have at least one of the following or a simialr product. These are all free and easy to use

Ad aware (http://www.lavasoftusa.com/) - Hompage
or just download it here (http://www.download.com/3001-8022_4-10319876.html)

Spybot (http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html) - Homepage
or just download it here (http://www.download.com/3001-8022_4-10289035.html)

Microsoft Anit Spyware (beta) (http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx) - Homepage
and I don't think i can directly link you because you have to go through some sort of validation process.

Try to ran a scan with one of these AT LEAST once a week.
Of course there's always the ones that you can pay for like norton but often these work better with detecting spyware then norton.
